A Simple 5-Minute Meditation in Shower to Help You Feel Better

This section will provide a guided shower meditation to make you feel better and calm your mind. You can carry out this meditation in three parts, and we’ll explore them below.

Part 1: Washing Your Body

Washing Your Body

You can enjoy a healing shower meditation from the second you step into the shower to the last minute before you step out.

It’s an opportunity to be mindful about what you’re doing, and it’s as simple as paying attention to simple things like the water falling onto your body, the sensation of your hands moving over your body or even the aroma of the soap.

You can start by adjusting the water temperature and pressure to a warm and soothing setting.

It’s best to close your eyes to allow you to focus on your shower meditation and also focus on your breath.

As the water heats your body, inhale. Feel the cleansing water flow into your nostrils and imagine it expanding into the empty cavity of your chest.

Now, exhale and feel the tension and anxiety escape your body. Remember that there are no set rules on where you place your attention as long as you focus on something happening in the present.

For example, you can listen to the sound of the water hitting the floor during your healing shower meditation or focus on your breath moving within your body.

Whatever your choice is, ensure you’re focused on the now and maintain an attitude of non-judgment.

Part 2: Cleansing Visualisation

Once you’re done washing your body, carry out this cleansing visualisation for about 2 minutes.

Next, allow your body to stand in the shower while your eyes are closed. At this point, pay attention to the water hitting your body and head.

Feel as the water massages your skin with every drop touching you. Next, breathe through your mouth so that the water doesn’t go in through your nose.

Now, Exhale and feel your body release the waste product of stress, tension, negative energy, and thoughts.

Imagine that these negative flows are escaping out of your mouth. You can repeat this full breath cycle a couple of times.

Ensure you relax your body is relaxed as you face the shower stream. Keep your eyes closed and your lips relaxed.

Feel the water flow smoothly down your head and through the rest of your body.

Allow your body to feel the running water as you visualise the power of the shower to cleanse you of all negativity, frustration, tiredness, or frustration.

It is pulling it all off and washing it toward the ground. Your anxiety and tension are falling down the drain and disappearing forever.

Continue to inhale and exhale as you feel the tension flowing down and completely running off your body.

As the water pulls the weight of the tension out of you, your inside becomes emptier, and your body and limbs get lighter and lighter than ever.

Finally, you’ll feel calm, and your breath will become more relaxed. You can carry out this cleansing visualisation for as long as you want.

Remember that your imagination is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal. Using your imagination to meditate in the shower is one of the ways to improve your mental health.

You can utilise it to create a better life for yourself. However, you need to use it in a positive and uplifting manner.

Part 3: Positive Energy Visualisation

Positive Energy Visualisation

Now that you’ve let go of the negative energy turn away from the shower stream with your eyes still closed.

Focus on the rhythmic drumming of the water on your head, neck, shoulders, arms, chest, back, legs, and feet. Feel each tap of the water wake up the nerves beneath your skin.

Let the water make them come alive and alert. The water touches every inch of your skin, stimulating each nerve in your body.

Continue to take deep breaths and focus on the water sensation all over your skin and the vibrant energy it’s activating all over your body.

It is awakening every part of you, making your insides pulse and course with bright energy.

The water is now positive energy, gratitude, forgiveness, confidence, and healing flowing into you and around you.

The water is cleansing, refreshing, and purifying, and you’re in harmony with it. Take a couple of refreshing breaths, then step out of the shower and open your eyes.

Wiggle your arms, toes, and fingers and feel the energy coursing through your body. Now you can turn off the body.

You’ll notice that your body is at peace, your senses are alert, your mind is clear, and you’re ready to begin the bright day ahead of you.
